I had to physically and mentally take last week as a serious recovery week.  I didn't get many miles in so this week I am excited to run.  Had a good run this morning and everything felt good.  Had a couple nagging "pains" that I wanted to let heal up last week.

I had a 7AM class this morning so I was not able to get any more than 4 miles in.  I did the run a little faster than usual because I was up against the clock.  The goal is to get a run in every day this week so I am still on track.

I had a really good run this morning.  My legs felt really good which suprised me.  This week has been a little more relaxed than last week so mentally I am in a better place and I think that helps with my running.

About 1 mile into my run I rolled my ankle on a pine cone.  Luckily I was able to move it around and still run on it but I took my run really slow.  It was raining and windy here too so that made my run a little slower too.

I was able to do 16 miles this morning.  My daughter is here and we are going to six flags tomorrow so I had to get my long run in today.  The run had a lot of hills and was pretty challanging this morning.  I had to run on the roads because of all the rain we have got.  My legs were tired to finish, but I was happy with the run.  Next week I get to do my long run in Havasu with my buddy Rhett.  I'm sure it will make 18 miles feel like 5.

When I first started this program I thought my long running days were over.  I had a lot of mixed feelings about that but I felt this was the right thing to do.  I am very thankful today that I have been able to get my running life back (with the exception of my running buddy and therapist Rhett) and feel like I can compete again.  It has taken earlier mornings and a little more sacrafice on my part, but I feel like I am getting back in the game.  I was able to run 46 miles this week with a rolled ankle and all my schoolwork.  I'm looking forward to next week to up the miles a little more and get back to my running roots in Havasu with Rhett.

Now I'm off to six flags to ride roller coasters with my kids all day:)
