I did a 40 minute workout with weights followed by a 27 minute ride on the stationary bike.  I tried to push pretty hard while I was on the bike.

Well, I was up at 5:30 and out the door around 5:45 this morning for my run.  The first 4 miles were not too bad, but the last 3.7 were really hot and the wind was blowing in my face like a hot blow dryer.  It is getting close to the time when I have to run at the gym like a little hampster.  Not looking forward to that, but the heat is really rough to run a lot of miles in.

I started my run this morning at 5:30.  It was fairly windy and the temperature outside was 90 degrees.  When I finished it was 93.  I kept a good pace for the first 5 miles, but as soon as the uphill started and I had a headwind, my time started to slow.  The last few miles were in the 8:30 range.  I am trying to not get too frustrated with this because it is really hot and I am runnig uphill into a headwind.  I'm hoping that by the end of the summer I can chop off 30 seconds because I am so use to the heat.

My plan was to run around 5:30 this morning, but the fact that I don't have any race pressing me right now and I was just not in the mood to run at that time helped me choose not to run.  I ended up running around 9.  Like last week, it was really hot!  As soon as I started I decided I was going to take it a little slower so I didn't kill myself.  I think my run was better than last week so maybe I am adapting more to the hot weather.  It did feel good to run.  I was glad after my run I made the decision to get a run in, even if it was short.
