| Did my run eary in the morning before my 7AM class and then went to the gym at lunch and got my swim in and followed it up with about 15 minutes of core work.

| 2.8 miles on the roads going to and coming back from the trails. Did 7.2 miles on the trails. It felt good to get back on the trails and enjoy the peace and quiet. I saw about 6 other runners out on the trails which was good to see. The goal is to do a trail run every week to prepare for my off road marathon with Rhett.

| I had an unexpected class this morning so I was only able to get in 5 miles. I was planning on doing a long run but the class messed that up.

| As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I occasionally get to work with the youth of the church and do activities with them. Today I got to go on a hike with them to the peak of San Bernardino Mountain. The hike is pretty intense and long for a bunch of 12-15 year old boys, but we felt they were tough enough to do it. We started hiking at 5AM and made it to the peak at around 12:30. It was good to see the boys challange themselves and push through something hard. We got down the mountain at about 4:40 so the total trip was a little over 11 hours. My legs and feet hurt and my back was tired from carrying a pack all day. I had a great time and it was fun to even challange myself with hiking for such a long time.
I figure I am going to count this as a run because it was very challanging and was excellent training for the upcoming trail marathon Rhett and I are running in January.

| My legs were a little sore in a few spots from my hike on Saturday, but I thought that a run would be a great way to get over that soreness. Had a nice easy run this morning. The weather is changing and it is getting chilly here in the mornings. I'm always just thankful to have the chance to run!

| I wanted to get in 6-7 but I slept in a little so I didn't have enough time. I have been really tired this week. I think it has a lot to do with my lack of sleep over the weekend. Overall the legs felt better after giving them a day to recover but they still didn't feel great. During lunch I went for my afternoon swim and then did some core work.

| I really wanted to get in more than 5 miles but with a 7AM class it is tough to get more than 5. My legs felt better this morning. I am still really tired. Some of it might be the fact that my wife is sick so I haven't slept as well as usual.

| 10 miles on the trails and 3 on the road leading up to the trails. It was a tough run with a steep uphill and then a pounding downhill. I was happy to be done with it and to have run that distance. That is my longest run in a while.

| Felt good to get out and run after all the food I ate yesterday. My legs have felt pretty tired most of the week and they still felt tired today. It will be interesting to see how my legs feel during my long run tomorrow.

| This morning was one of those mornings I tried to make every excuse I could to not run. After debating with myself for about 10 minutes I decided I would head out and not have any agenda. I would just run until my legs told me to stop. My ultimate goal was 14-15 miles but I was not going to be disappointed if I didn't make it. I started off and my legs felt tired like they have all week. When I got to the trails I thought that 10 would be about my max for the day. I was thrilled as my legs started feeling better as my run progressed. I ended up running 15.5 miles, much of it on the trails, and my legs felt great after. I could have easily done 20 this morning. It was encouraging because last week my 13 mile run was pretty tough. Now I get the next 2 days to rest my legs. This is the most I have run in a week for a long time. I did a hike a couple weeks ago, but this week was all running. It was a really good morning and the weather was perfect!
