| I have recently moved to start a dental specialty program in California. I miss a lot of things about Lake Havasu, but the running weather here so far is AMAZING!! I started my run with it being 59 degrees this morning and it was 90 where I use to live (sorry Rhett). I had a good 5 mile run followed by a 20 minute core workout. | |

| My little girl had a cross country meet in Riverside so I got up at 5 to take her to the meet. I got home from the meet around 11 so I decided on a 4 mile run around 11:30. It was warm but nothing compared to Havasu at 7AM in the morning.

| I enjoyed a 6.25 mile run this morning. The weather was great and my legs felt good. I am going to try to up my miles to hit about 35 this week. I think that is where I will spend most of my weeks.
After the run I did yard work and followed that up with a core workout. It was a good way to start my Labor Day!

| I had a good run this morning. Couldn't go far because of my 7AM class. I didn't go too hard, just where my body felt good. I wanted to run to the track but the high school cross country team that my girl is part of was practicing at 5AM this morning so I will have to do it tomorrow. I have developed a pretty good routine with school. I have a lot of times I feel too overwhelmed to run, but those are the times I push myself to run because I know I need it the most. My health is much more important than a good grade on a test!

| I had a 7AM seminar to attend and a test at 8 so I did a quick 3.25 mile run. I needed to get a little speedwork in so this was the perfect time to do it.

| I decided not run officially run the trails this morning but instead a ran on the dirt next to a road that was a lot like a trail. It was 10 miles but it was a tough run. I ran to the temple this morning which is almost exactly 4 miles from our house. I thew on a little before and a little after to get the 10 miles. To get to the temple I have to run down a hill/mountain that is a 6% grade and really tough. My legs were really tired after the downhill run when I got to the temple. I rested at the temple for a few minutes and just had a peaceful moment there, and then started up the hill. It was a tough uphill battle in the heat (it was about 80 by this time) but I made it through. It was only 10 miles, but it felt like 15 and took me a little over 1 1/2 hours to finish. It was a great way to start the day!!!

My usual sleep routine was messed up this week and my eating pattern was not normal so I was a little worried how I would feel but I felt pretty good. It's always good to get out and run!

| I decided I didn't want to run really early in the morning and I also didn't want to battle hills today so I waited unitl 12 to run. I think I wanted to remember what it was like to run in the heat. I went and watched surgeries and then went to the workout center at the school and ran on the trail they have. Each loop is about .5 miles. It was flat so I was able to actually run with a little speed. It felt good to run in the heat, but I'm glad I don't have to do it every day.

| My little girl had a cross country meet this morning and the meet was exactly 10 miles from my house. The only issue is that it is a grueling uphill run and it would be around 8:30 before I could start. I decided I was up for the challange so I cheered her on and then started my own run and let me wife drive the car home. I stopped at the temple to eat some fruit snacks because I could tell my energy levels were getting low. It was a smart move because I don't know that I would have made it up the crazy 1.4 mile (6% grade) hill without it. I had just enough water and just enough energy to make it through the run. I had a solid week. Next week I have to travel to Dallas for a conference so I will be doing a lot of TM runs.

| Started my morning with a run. This morning starts the beginning of my training for a trail marathon. I am really excited to be back to training with a purpose. | As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I occasionally get to work with the youth of the church and do activities with them. Today I got to go on a hike with them to the peak of San Bernardino Mountain. The hike is pretty intense and long for a bunch of 12-15 year old boys, but we felt they were tough enough to do it. We started hiking at 5AM and made it to the peak at around 12:30. It was good to see the boys challange themselves and push through something hard. We got down the mountain at about 4:40 so the total trip was a little over 11 hours. My legs and feet hurt and my back was tired from carrying a pack all day. I had a great time and it was fun to even challange myself with hiking for such a long time.
I figure I am going to count this as a run because it was very challanging and was excellent training for the upcoming trail marathon Rhett and I are running in January.

| This morning was one of those mornings I tried to make every excuse I could to not run. After debating with myself for about 10 minutes I decided I would head out and not have any agenda. I would just run until my legs told me to stop. My ultimate goal was 14-15 miles but I was not going to be disappointed if I didn't make it. I started off and my legs felt tired like they have all week. When I got to the trails I thought that 10 would be about my max for the day. I was thrilled as my legs started feeling better as my run progressed. I ended up running 15.5 miles, much of it on the trails, and my legs felt great after. I could have easily done 20 this morning. It was encouraging because last week my 13 mile run was pretty tough. Now I get the next 2 days to rest my legs. This is the most I have run in a week for a long time. I did a hike a couple weeks ago, but this week was all running. It was a really good morning and the weather was perfect!

| I was able to do 16 miles this morning. My daughter is here and we are going to six flags tomorrow so I had to get my long run in today. I am very thankful today that I have been able to get my running life back (with the exception of my running buddy and therapist Rhett) and feel like I can compete again. It has taken earlier mornings and a little more sacrafice on my part, but I feel like I am getting back in the game. I was able to run 46 miles this week with a rolled ankle and all my schoolwork. I'm looking forward to next week to up the miles a little more and get back to my running roots in Havasu with Rhett.
Now I'm off to six flags to ride roller coasters with my kids all day:)

| I did not run the last 2 days because of my finals. Now that they are done I am free to run as long as I want. I did 8 miles this morning and rolled my ankle again at mile 6. I couldn't find what I rolled it on but it hurt worse than the first time, most likely because I am still trying to recover from it, but I was able to recover just fine and finish my run. I need to be more careful with my runs I guess.

| I had a good run this morning without any issues. My ankle was painful for the run, but I expected that after rolling it yesterday. The legs felt good and overall I felt good. I did take things a little slower just to be careful with the ankle.

| I got to go bac to Havasu this weekend and run with Rhett. It was a lot of fun to catch up and get the chance to run with him again. I think it felt like going back home for my whole family. I had a decent run, but there were a few times my body was ready to scream at me. Overall I had a blast hanging out with my running buddy again and getting to see Havasu again.

| I took Monday as another rest day to let my ankle heal a little more from rolling it and the long run on Saturday. The legs felt good this morning and the weather was amazing.

| Had a nice run this morning. I didn't have any pressing school things so I started later and just took things nice and slow. I did a different run which had more hills.
Then did some core work.

| I didn't get a run done in the morning so I did it after I got home from school. I never like running at the end of the day. It was a really slow run and my side hurt most of the run. This is something that only happens when I run at the end of the day.

| Good run this morning. It was good to have the quick turn around after running last night so my legs could get use to running when they are a little tired. Weather was nice and the run was enjoyable.

| I had a really good 21 mile run this morning. The course I chose to do was very very challenging with a lot of hills. About 12 miles of it was on trails with 6 uphill and 6 downhill. I also had a couple areas before I got to the trails that were pretty tough uphills and downhills. I chose this because I not only wanted to go long today, I wanted to challange myself. I will say the last few miles were not easy. I had my little girl come and run a little bit with me and bring me some food and something to drink with some carbs. Once I got some of that in me I felt a lot better. Overall I was really happy with the run today. It boosted my confidence that I will be fine with the upcoming trail marathon I have in a few weeks. My total running time was 3:37 so it was good to be on my feet for a long period of time. Now I will take the day to recover!

| I was able to sleep in a little and then get my run in. My legs were still tired from the run on Saturday, but once I got going I felt pretty good. I kept the run nice and slow with an AP of 8:50 to let the legs just recover. Tomorrow is suppose to be bad weather so I will see what kind of a run I can get in.

| Had a really good run with Rhett this morning. It is always good to run with him and get the chance to talk. It was a cold morning in Havasu with lots of wind, but it was still a really fun run.

| Had a really nice run with Rhett. It was really cold and windy, but it was still a really nice run. I have not run on the Havasu trails for a while so it was a challenging run for the 10 miles we were on the trails. It has been fun to run again with Rhett. I wanted to go longer but I had to be home by 9 and we didn't have any more time. It was good to get a 10 mile run followed by a 20 mile run though. Legs felt good after and I actually felt pretty good all day.

| I started the day before New Years off right with a nice run. The weather was about perfect and I actually felt really good after the 20 mile run on Saturday. My legs felt fresh and ready to run. I am hoping I can get a run in tomorrow but we will see how much the late night messes me up.
